Hailing from Sydney Australia, songwriter/producer Jacob Moore, who has been involved with a myriad of acts for a number of years, is finally ready to shine light on his first solo musical presentation in 2016.

Whilst simultaneously retaining a fondness for the musical gems of yesteryear and keeping a keen eye on the future, Jacob has been quietly tinkering away recording new material. The little musical entities he has been breathing life into seem to naturally pertain a moodier blues-based guitar backbone, held up vocally with a hint of the 'blue-eyed soul' vibes you might have found back within a 1950's-60's era barbershop quartet. These common themes being similarly peppered with the imaginative technicolour found in Brian Wilson and John Lennon's songwriting throughout the 60's & 70's. To complete the skeleton, Jacob began coupling the futuristic musical nodes of today's electronically synthesised hip hop/dance spectrum alongside the rebellious 'devil-may-care' swagger found illuminating the soul of a rock 'n roll King.

After entering one of his musical experiments into the annual songwriting competition run by renowned Studios 301 he was pleasantly surprised to find he had been chosen as one of the winners. This then was the catalyst that propelled Jacob to confidently move forward as a solo artist.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Jacob has experimented by immobilising his broad range of musical influences that are well worn upon his sleeve alongside a creative flair that has fused his passion for vintage sounds with modern ideals, creating a sort of 'analog future' musical world within an alt-pop song.

CAPTAIN'S LOG #002: While y'all been 'battening down the hatches' in Sydney & I guess the whole general eastern seaboard of Australia during these storms recently, I've been heading back to Studios 301 in Alexandria to complete work on my debut EP. This week, Producer Jack Prest & I completed mixing the second last track called 'from above' - think Pink Floyd's 'breathe' meets DJ Shadow's 'changeling'. Stoked with how it's sounding. I'll be heading back in 2 weeks time to complete another track & get the bastard mastered. I've also starting prepping my debut live shows which start in August. Got some sweet players on board for this so I can't wait to get the live gear rolling. Adios xx

'SOMETHING IN THE WATER' new single available now

Jacob Moore - 'something in the water'…/something-in-the-water

written & produced by Jacob Moore
mixed by Jack Prest (Flume, The Preatures, Action Bronson)
mastered by Ben Feggans (Flight Facilities, RÜFÜS / RÜFÜS DU SOL,NGAIIRE)
now available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer triple j Unearthed & most other online music outlets

Lifting the lid on his debut solo project in February this year, Sydney artist Jacob Moore takes another huge step into the light with his new track ‘Something In The Water’.

After years of writing, performing and producing for a myriad of acts Jacob has developed a unique knack for crafting classic pop tunes with a contemporary twist. Building from a bed of 50s-60s inspired soul and blues, JM uses his creative prowess and stunning vocal delivery to teleport his music into the now, holding his own as a throw back artist and as a contemporary.

Produced by Jack Prest at Sydney's Studios 301, ‘Something In The Water’ may deceive as it introduces itself with articulate vocal harmonies like that of a barber shop quartet. As the song grows however, new elements are introduced, from RnB to psych and even subtle hints of electro-pop. The result is a powerful anthem of soaring energy, with massive dynamic swells all held in place by Jacob's unique vocal timbre.

CAPTAIN'S LOG #001: I recently headed back to Sydney's 301 (studio 2 & 11 to be precise) to put down a couple finishing touches on some new music I've got coming up for you. I was joined by electronic producer Jack Prest, an old high school friend of mine Laura Stitt (who seriously has the voice of an angel) + Jedi Master Benjamin Freeman who dropped some extra keys on a track. All parties over the few days were shreading - can't wait to share this stuff with you in April....

HOWDY 2016....

This year, I'll be releasing a stack of material for the first time under my own name. Over the years, I've recorded, performed, written & produced for a multitude of acts - all good times. However during this time, I was always creating tunes on the side for general 'pick me ups' or just to lift ideas off my mind. Some exciting opportunities came my way mid 2015 that have provided an outlet to release some of these musical ideas - I'm excited yet nervous to share my musings with you. So here goes (something?).....

my first solo track, 'Infinity' was recorded at home & Studios 301 Sydney and it will be released February 2016

keep in touch...

Mezko (aka Laura Bailey and Kat Harley) self-released two singles which have earned a place on FBI, RRR, RTR and Unearthed playlists. The groundswell from airplay saw them invited to join line-ups of 2015’s Gizzfest, Heaps Gay x Vivid and the Volumes festival. The duo’s latest single Golden reached #4 on Amrap metro chart and is out as a limited edition cassette through Moontown Records.

Jacob Moore was previously in the band Bell Weather Department and has worked with a multitude of acts around the country since has gone solo. Moore aims to bring back some blues-influenced soul to today's modern day musical spectrum.

Following their international success with singles Talk and Tell Me on LA-based Next Wave Records, Atlas Bound broke through with Landed On Mars. The track peaked at #25 on the iTunes singer songwriter charts in Australia where it received airplay on triple j and #31 in the US, where it was played on KCRW in LA.

316 launched his career with underground NSW hip hop group Rayzed Hoodz. Handpicked to support Bliss N Esso at their mixtape launch, the group went on to collaborated with Snak the Ripper and Nova Rockafeller. 316 left the group following the release of its eponymous debut album and released two solo offerings Cold War Wine and The Menace Mixtape. Most recently 316 joined hip hop group Decypher Us and is working on their next project as well as his own solo mixtape.

Each winner will be paired with one of 301’s producers or mastering engineers to track, mix or master their work collaboratively. The artists have also been offered the opportunity to meet with artist management, consulting and marketing agency Original Matters for career advice.

The competition’s inaugural five winners were: triple j favourite Eleanor Dunlop, Byron hip hop artist Nastaij, Sydney singer-songwriter Odette, singer-songwriter, dancer and multi-instrumentalist Eden Mulholland and the supergroup formed by DIG members Scott Saunders and Terepai Richmond, as well as Michael Di Francesco (aka Touch Sensitive) and Peret Von Sturmer (aka DJ Mako).
